About the book:

From the “Forward:” This fiction book tells about the beginning of the wonderful sport of figure skating. Humans started skating as early as the Bronze Age on skates made from animal bones. Gliding quickly over the ice made life easier and helped people survive in harsh winter conditions. The story introduces three children and their uncle, who first taught himself, and later the three children to skate. While the adult thought of skating in terms of survival skills in a harsh winter environment, the children enjoyed the pleasure of learning new skills.

The book adeptly combines history with a fictional tale that encourage learning and practice, along with introducing real basic skating skills. The result is a fun and unique way to introduce children to the joys of figure skating.
